In 1508 the Hall of the Guild of St. Margaret of Antioch was built. When Guilds were abolished it was used as an extension to the poorhouse. By the early 18th Century, part of the building was being used as a public house and, by the late 18th Century, it was given the name - The Fox and Goose.
